Focus Guardian utilizes the TrueDepth API to enhance the application's performance in low-light environments. This technology helps us detect if the user's eyes are closed for an extended period, which can indicate drowsiness. The primary purpose of collecting this information is to help users avoid falling asleep while driving, studying, or performing other critical tasks.
2. Types of Data Collected
We only record non-sensitive information such as:
- The occurrence of prolonged eye closure, indicating potential drowsiness.
- The occurrence of yawning.
Each event is timestamped with the exact hour, minute, and second it was detected.
3. No Storage of Facial Data
Focus Guardian does not store any facial data captured by the TrueDepth API. We do not save any images or videos captured by the front-facing camera. The collected data is limited to timestamped events of potential drowsiness or yawning, without any facial information.
4. Local Data Storage
All recorded events are stored locally on the user's iPhone. These events help users understand their drowsiness patterns and improve their work or study schedules. No data is transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Focus Guardian does not share your data with any third parties. The data is solely stored on the device running the application and is used exclusively to provide you with insights into your drowsiness patterns.
